HOME/LAND: a group of actors will lead the audience through a joyful, poetic, powerful theatrical street performance. Standing on crates with loudspeakers, actors will take on the roles of protestors, immigration officers, refugees and immigrants, recounting stories, conducting interrogations, chanting slogans in call and response, and giving lines to the audience to repeat as a chorus. Led by a walking orchestra, a dance using administrative papers will create a visceral experience for the audience, as portraits of New Yorkers are projected onto banners and surrounding buildings.

Supported by NYSCA and FACE Contemporary Theater, a program of Villa Albertine and FACE Foundation, in partnership with the French Embassy in the United States; Washington Square Park Conservancy and PSC-CUNY Research Award Program.
